Medicare does not cover the cost of dental treatment. However, clients with chronic medical conditions emergencies treated at a School Dental Service clinic between check ups are also covered by this fee.

Smile: A Day of Free Dental Care at the University at Buffalo










Hundreds of children receive free oral health care and learn about oral hygiene during the annual Give Kids A Smile Day held each year in February by the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. The event, which in 2010 marked its ninth year, has grown to include three sites: the dental school on UB's South Campus, Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo and Mercy Hospital. Services are provided by a legion of volunteers, among them students, staff and faculty from UB, Erie Community College and UB's Educational Opportunity Center.
